Major cities of the Philippines are under enhanced community quarantine (lockdown) to contain the spread of the deadly novel coronavirus (COVID-19)

Ang Matinding Banta Kung Tatapusin na Ang Lockdown — Further Outbreaks Could Reoccur!

Batay sa isang study na published sa isang Medical Journal na The Lancet (as reported by Emma Reynolds at CNN), further outbreaks could reoccur if this lockdown will be lifted because there is no effective vaccine that is widely available yet. This time, it could lead to new restrictions…

Major cities of the Philippines are under enhanced community quarantine (lockdown) to contain the spread of the deadly novel coronavirus (COVID-19)

And… it could be catastrophic to health services and the economy…

Halimbawa nalang dito sa Pilipinas, if I am not mistaken, the Luzon-wide quarantine has been pushed until April 30… but should it be fully lifted, the virus could swipe again…

Wala pa kasi tayong herd immunity sa COVID-19 or the new coronavirus. Ang isa sa dahilan kung bakit magiging immune ang tao sa isang sakit is through vaccination… and since there is no official vaccine yet for the new coronavirus, ang pagtanggal sa community quarantine o lockdown ay posibleng magdudulot ng mga panibagong infection sa iba pang mga tao…

And since most of our resources are already exhausted, the second wave of infection could be deadlier, kasi nga paubos na ang supply… and people might not be able to stay at home anymore, if government can no longer give financial aid…

It could mean — back to zero!

Get ready for the worst!

One practical thing you can do right now is gardening. Instead na wala kang gagawin and just let the days pass… you can better prepare the soil right now…

Hindi pa tag-ulan, but you can definitely grow some veggies…

Ako na yung in-charge sa pag-grocery, kasi nga may maliit kami na mga bata, and my wife can better watch the kids than me… Mas lalo na ngayon, we have to appoint kung sino lamang ang lalabas, it is definitely me.

Yung mga binibili ko mga basic needs lang talaga namin… kasi we have to be wiser how we spend our money. Kailangan may matira talaga.

For example, dati, bumibili talaga ako ng lechon na manok, because my little kids love it. Isa ito sa paborito nila, but given the price of a lechon manok, I better use the budget for their vitamins, etc…

At yun nga, kapag may garden, just like us, kahit maliit lang, napakalaking tulong talaga… kasi yung gulay, mahal yan kung bilhin, at dahil hindi siya ma-stock ng matagal, kahit nasa loob ng refrigerator, mas mataas ang chance na mahawa pa sa COVID-19 kakapunta sa palengke…

Take note, hindi pa rin masyadong nasusunod ang social distancing sa mga palengke, kaya I totally avoided na mamili doon.

We are already abundant with leafy vegetables, so my wife can turn a can of sardines into a delicious dish my kids love eating… sulit at swak sa budget! Kasi kung yung sardinas lang, magsasawa ka non… but if you are getting creative with the sardines, na, ang sarap!!!
